'Carnival Capers' (Barry Blyth, R. 2006). Seedling# M65-6. TB, 36' (91 cm), Late midseason bloom. Standards creamy lemon; falls lavender, 3/8' soft champagne edge, violet center, hafts smooth tan extending half way down, tan black near top; beards mustard; pronounced sweet fragrance. Seedling# H159-2, 'Final Episode' sibling, X 'Decadence'. Keppel 2009, Tempo Two 2009/10. Honorable Mention 2011.See below:

From Keith Keppel Iris catalog, 2009: CARNIVAL CAPERS ML 36' (Final Episode sib X Decadence) Mimosa yellow standards, falls lavender with blended eucalyptus green edge, plus heavy prelate purple overlay on upper haft around reddish brazil brown beard. A more striking version of its sib, Let's Romp. #M65-6. $60.00; 3 for $160.00.

Hybridizer's Comment: A bicolour with about four different colours on the falls and a difficult pattern to describe. Standards are blended creamy lemon and the falls are basically lavender with 3/4' edge of champagne. In the centre of the fails is an area of deeper violet and the hafts are smooth tan extending almost half way lown and deepening to tan-black at the top. After imagining that, add mustard beards. As would be expected coming from Decadence, it has lovely ruffled flowers and is an excellent grower with good branching. It also has a pronounced sweet perfume. Good parent. Sister to 'Gothic Lord' and 'Let's Romp'. lntroduced in conjunction with Keith Keppel in USA 2OO9.
